As historically in the past rumored, Sony announced a premium service for their PlayStation Network at their press conference yesterday. The service, named PlayStation Plus, will permit subscribers exclusive PSN content including avatars, themes and more.
Next week PlayStation Network users will have access to Sony’s new premium service, titled PlayStation Plus. The service, scheduled to start on June 22nd, will offer premium content for a tiered payment play.
PlayStation Plus will be available for $49.99 per year in the US with a limited offer of two months free. The service will even be available in a smaller package of two months for $17.99. These prices confirm earlier reports that the service would not exceed a $9.99 per month cost tag.
The premium service will permit users to download designated PS3 and PSN titles as well as PS One Classics free. In the work of the press conference, Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of The united states, also noted that someone who subscribes in the first month will get Wipeout HD, an infamous trial and the Rally Cross minigame.
Subscribers will also get PlayStation Store discounts, automatic content downloads and updates to Qore, early access to demos and priority beta invitations, as well as other exclusive offers.
PlayStation Plus is schedule to launch later this month.
